Description:
The clear night was one Nysena hadn't seen for awhile. The waves crashed lightly against the beach at the lowtide, reaching for the few candles dancing in the slight breeze. The full moon lit the beach, highlighting the warm, cheerful laughs coming from a large white tent. Inside, a group of tables littered the area, at at the front was a classical band which would give way to a more modern, uplifting band later that evening. The party is hoisted by the hospital in order to raise funds for medical research and aid.

; tonight we dance, i leave my life in your hands we take the floor, nothing is forbidden anymore. "It looks really good Karin, you did an amazing job! I hope I could've helped- i'm sorry, you know what I get like with new clothes." Ricki rolled her eyes, smiling at Karin as the two ladies sat alone in a corner speaking to one another. Ricki was unaware of Joanne and Annalie's wereabouts, but it didn't bother her too much. She knew those two could manage dressing decently. Ricki herself was wearing a knee length red dress, which matched the colour of her lip-stick. Her hair was in waves, rather than it's usual dead straight form and her amber eyes were twinkling. "I managed to try out this combination of a denim skirt and white school shirt, it actually didn't look that bad! So I stiched the white shirt to a tank stop, and did some alterations to the size to make it more of a waist coat, I sewed the top with the skirt - and weird as it is, it look like quite a decent dress. I think I might add a belt to that one too," she mused thoughtfully.
Her hands were in her lap, and the table they were sat at held two glasses. One with Karin's drink, and the other with Ricki's red wine. Though ofcourse, they were merely props. It wasn't like they were going to be drinking anything tonight, just moving around with that one glass smiling and greeting people, getting them refills while they just continued to smile. I still don't see why we have to smile so much. Ricki added mentally, before she looked away from Karin and around the room once again. She was waiting for the Cullens to arrive. Ricki still hadn't met any of them, and she really was looking forward to meeting this new coven. Especially since they shared the same diet habbits as them. She wondered how similar they'd be to her family, or how different. It'd just be so interesting- it'd be nice to have some new company too. Someone new to talk to, who you don't have to be all secretive around. Well... secretive about being a vampire anyway.
"When will the Cullens get here?" her voice sounded quite vague, but her insides were jumping out of curiosity, "I want to see what they're like." she flexed her fingers and crossed her right leg over her left at the knees. "You go to work with the leader don't you Karin? Carlisle? What's he like? Are they... What are they like?" she pressed her lips together, playing with her wine glass. She tried to pass the comments off rather casually, but she knew Karin would be able to see past her pretense, and see the burning curiosity within her.

____________________________________________________ "Thanks," Karin beamed at her youngest 'daughter'. "You look beautiful." She smiled radiantly and swooped down to kiss Ricki on the cheek in the annoying motherly fashion she indulged in mainly just to cause trouble. Her lips, touched with a natural pink, stretched into her warm inviting, professional smile. She brushed her hands over her fairly plain off white dress, accompanied by the sound of the bangles clashing together. She smiled to her daughter's ramblings about clothes. She wasn't quite sure what she was talking about, but she never really did when it came to fashion. That really was the other females in the family's jobs to make sure Karin didn't go out looking terrible.
"The Cullens should be here any moment," her smiled faltered slightly at the memory of the hospital. Not that it was a bad memory, just a confusing one. "Carlisle... said they would probably be coming,"; she smiled, feeling giddy at just the mention of his name. She sighed internally and eyed up the wine on the table wondering if it'd have any effect on a vampire. She could tell Ricki was dying for more info, so she smiled and prepared to answer her. "Well, Carlisle is quite something. Calm, controlled, compassionate," prefect, "brilliant doctor. I haven't met any of the other family but apparently William has met Bella."
She looked away feeling slightly uncomfortable. The feelings would fade surely. She glanced around to view her handiwork. Satisfied, she smiled to herself. "Now to wait," she muttered. "Don't worry, I'm always very excited to them." Especially Carlisle. She turned a teasing smile to Ricki to prove that she had seen through her calm ruse. She look in apprehension toward the door, wishing to see the Cullens walk through the door. She took a glance at some crucial sponsors that entered.
She looked to her guests of "honour." She smiled. Soon she would sweep her drink off the table and make her way over to the group of men. The whole battle for ponsorship would begin thereafter. Happily, she'd laugh, flirt, only to get their sponsorship, practice her smile and practiced manipulation. Caleb never minded the raised heart beats of the poor men and found it a wry amusement. Her mind flickered to Carlisle, feeling slightly guilty.

Amber felt her heart in her throat as she entered the large white tent. She pulled nervously at her knee length, strapless, deep blue dress. She felt odd in the dress, she rarely had to do anything that involved wearing a dress. The last time she had worn a dress had been to her Senior Prom. She smiled as she remembered her prom. That had been alot of fun she thought to herself. She looked around and saw that there weren't many people. She hoped that more people would come.
She saw two women sitting at one of the tables talking. Both were breathtakingly beautiful. She frowned, they were almost too beautiful to be human. Who are they? she thought to herself. She sighed and shook her head, she was starting to wonder about what she was doing here. She tried to stop thinking negatively, she was currently thinking in circles. For the past few days she would think of something, think of something else, then start thinking about the thing she had been thinking about in the first place. She ran her hand through her hair and glanced around nervously. She didn't know anyone in this town and that was why she had decided to come to the ball she reminded herself.
Amber sat in an empty chair at an empty table still feeling uncomfortable. So far everyone that had arrived seemed to know each other. She sat not really sure if she should randomly start talking to some one or if she should wait for some one to start talking to her. She sighed again and rested her chin in her one hand as she figured out what to do.

Little girl, little girl you dirty liarxxx You're just a junkie preaching to the choir
Ari walked to the beach for the charity ball that Ricki had mentioned at the mall. It was semi-formal, but the dress she was wearing was the only thing she owned that wasn't skinny jeans and a shirt. But, she did look good in black and purple, so it would all even out, she hoped. The shoes were the only thing she had besides converse, but they were cute, so it matched the dress really well. She looked around the beach. The set up was magnificent. It was very bright and amazing. She looked around to see if she could find Ricki. It was so crowded though, she really couldn't see anything. So, she went over to the drink table. She got a glass of water and sat down. She drank it and still looked around. She felt like she would end up leaving in a few minutes anyways. She didn't feel right being here. It was so much more different than what she was used to. It was just really weird. She was wearing a dress. No pants or converse. She shivered a little bit. But, she did have her iPod. She turned it on and All Time Low popped on. She smiled to herself. Her foot started to tap as soon as Shameless came on. Well, she just sat there, about to get up and leave. She still hadn't seen Ricki, but she was kind of sitting down, so it would be kind of hard to find her. She did decide to get up and move around a little bit. She moved through the crowd and still didn't see her. Oh well, so, she just went to sit back down. Maybe Ricki would see her, or maybe someone else would come talk to her. Either way she would at least try some conversation. Outfit;; ClickNotes;; Bleh Muse-ic;; Weightless[/blockquote]

party hearty drinkand be merry Being fashonably late was always Annalie's way of actually being considerate. She loved Karin's charity functions since they were so high class and just fun. Being admired by all the men there wasn't really something she cared about on a normal basis. However tonight she was making sure she looked extremely fabulous. The Cullens were going to come and Annalie had heard much about them. For Karin's sake, she promised to be on her good behavior. Of course she already knew Carlisle since they worked together. Being a nurse was her way of being independent and helping the humans as much as possible. They were weaker creatures and Annalie did have a strong belief that helping them survive the inevitable future was important. It was how she and Karin connected so well when they first encountered one another.
Arriving in her black fitted halter dress and black sun hat, Annalie did indeed look beautiful. She couldn't wait to mingle with other doctors and men and discuss the benefits of being in the medical practice and blah blah blah. OK in reality she was just really excited to finally meet the Cullen Coven. The Day Coven was so intrigued that another vegetarian vampire family were capable in becoming allies. Plus Karin couldn't shut up about Carlisle's family herself so they had to be pretty good people.
Putting on a big smile, Annalie walked over to her "mother" and "sister" grabbing a champagne glass off of a server's plate, in the most graceful manner. "This party looks fabulous," she said in her thick South African accent. "Karin you've really made this ball quite the venue." She smiled widely and observed the humans surrounding them. Already she was able to smell adrenaline from human males catching her eye. She snickered and returned her attention back to her family. "I spoke to Ms. Evans in room 230 today. Unfortunately she wanted to cut the Life Support." Annalie had a strong connection with her patients. This one in particular was an eighty year old woman who was slowly bleeding internally from her abdominal area. Sadly her insurance was expired and didn't have any connections with her family. Annalie was willing to pay for the woman's care since money was never an issue. However Ms. Evans signed the papers, ending her Life Support and she died shortly after.
Sighing and swigging around her drink, Annalie fixed her hat and then put on a happy face. "We can't save everyone can we?" she asked her "mother".

Post by Cadence Arianna Duval on Jul 17, 2009 17:15:17 GMT
Cadence personally didn't care what she dressed like, or whether she looked like she had stepped down from a salon chair or just looked as if she had been dragged through a few hedges and muddy ditches. Obviously, this is an overstatement. I really don't suggest trying it out for yourselves, because Cadence has started following her parents in the temper department. Overall, she still has a rather sunny disposition, and is regularly happier than those around her. It just so happens that when something irks her even slightly, she is prone to flying off the handle and, at times, being quite violent and aggressive about it.
Cadence may not have been giving her appearance particular thought when she got up on a Friday near the beginning of her long vacation, but her mother certainly had been. Cadence had been in the kitchen for no longer than thirty seconds when her mother laid into her with a list of faults. "Your hair's too long, it needs a trim. Why don't you straighten it once in a while? Or dye it that lovely blonde like Becky? Yours looks so flat and dull compared to hers. And your eyes! Did you have a late night again? And you should see a doctor about those spots? And you need to diet again. And dress up, for God's sake!!" She didn't seem to breathe as she spoke, prodding and poking Cadence, nattering in her ear, following her around the kitchen as Cadence tried in vain to escape. The finding of flaws only ceased when her father, Randolph, walked into the kitchen, only half paying attention as he read the newspaper.
Upon hearing his wife's voice, he had stopped, laid the paper aside, and realised what had been going on. Ever the morning person, he was quick on his feet, quicker on the uptake, and quicker yet with his wit. "Leave her alone, for Christ's sake! It's nine in the morning, she came here for breakfast, not a serving of things you think are wrong with her shoved down her throat!" Before Cadence's mother could respond, he'd already moved over to Cadence to kiss her on the cheek and mutter quietly into her ear. "You look beautiful, darlin', but you better change before the ball, or your mum'll throw an even bigger fit." Cadence simply nodded in response, and silently ate her cereal.
----------------------
The house was mercifully silent all day, and Cadence had the opportunity to go through every single piece of clothing that she owned. She knew that the ball was a big deal. It was a charity event to raise money for the hospital's research department, which was something that, if nothing else, her father felt very strongly about. Her mother did too, but not to the extent that her father did, and anyway, anything to do with that woman was almost immediately cast from Cadence's mind, such was her aversion to being anywhere near her own mother. "Urgh, I don't have anything to wear!" She complained, groaning and stamping her foot on the carpeted floor. At that moment, her mother chose to return with many bags from the city. She had been shopping. Not surprising, really. "I bought you your outfit for tonight. I don't trust you to be able to piece one together from your wardrobe." Her mother was harsh and not at all reticent, as she should have been. She left bags by Cadence's bedroom door, and stalked away, presumably to get ready herself.
Cadence waited a few moments before even approaching the door and taking a look inside the bags, but the light was too dim in the hall to see anything properly. Taking the bags into her room, pushing the door shut, Cadence emptied everything onto her bed. Everything that her mother expected her to wear was a garish (to her) shade of bronze, but Cadence was riled now. "I'm going to wear this, I'm going to look amazing, and I'm going to pull. I'll show her." She muttered, angrily, covering her mirrors before starting to get ready, knowing that if she saw her own reflection, she'd talk herself out of her petty revenge.
An hour later, a car beeped outside the house, and Cadence floated elegantly from her room, her hair down and curled over her shoulders, bronzed pearls at her ears and neck, and round her wrist. A bronze clutch was in her hand, held with carefully manicured nails, and every time she stepped, half of one smooth, tanned leg ending in a stiletto heeled shoe could be seen from the rise in the front of the dresses hem.
It didn't take long for them to get to the large white marquee where the ball was going to be held, but the looks that her mother and father had given her all throughout the ride made her smile smugly, sure from her mother's disdain and annoyance that she looked better than the older woman. Cadence was first into the tent out of the three of them, but even the second of a glimpse that she got before she was joined by her parents was enough to assure her that she was bound to be ignored all night. All the women present were beautiful in a scary, ethereal way, and she felt distinctly plain next to any one of them.
Sitting down with a carefully indifferent look on her face, a pleasant smile curving her lips upwards, Cadence took three name cards from her clutch and headed over to a table that only housed one. "Is anyone else sitting here?" She asked, politely, her hand gesturing to the three chairs that she had approached. The girl in black and purple shook her head, and Cadence placed the three cards in front of three of the chairs, and smiled as she took her seat. "I can't wait for this to be over." She groaned, passing a hand over her forehead as if trying to ward away a headache.

Post by Isabella Mord on Jul 18, 2009 18:25:50 GMT
Isabella pursed her lips slightly as she entered the large white tent. As usual her brother had sent her in first to do all the work. He sat back and waited until all the guests arrived before he would dare think of coming and she had to come earlier to observe which members of the Cullen family would turn up for this 'ball'. A slight frown appeared on her face as she observed the guests who had arrived so far, as far as she could see none of the Cullens had arrived yet. This was a pleasant turn of events for Isabella as this meant she had time to make herself appear discreet among the other guests.
She sniffed the air delicately taking in the various scents that filled the air around her. Most of the scents she smelt were human, yet she could smell other vampires as well. So the rumours are true of another vampire coven in Nysena she thought as a sly smile slipped on her face. She took a glass of red wine from one of the waiters, although she would not drink any of the wine holding a glass of wine seemed to assure humans that she was human as well. She checked her reflection in the wine glass, making sure that her contacts were still in. She was pleased to see that the contacts were still in, it would be noticed if she had red eyes instead of the blue which they were now.
Isabella found a table that was discreetly placed and sat at it. She smiled, these Days were unknowingly helping her and her brother in their plan.

Edward walked into the beautiful party and pushed a piece of his hair back, it always annoyed him that his hair was getting longer. Bella loved his hair like that, he didn't quite understand it to be honest. Edward was wearing a nice black suit. It was the same one he wore when he took Bella to prom. He felt the fabric on his arm and smiled a little, remembering her hand slowly slide over it. He got distracted a little and finally got out of his little..moment. He saw a few people he knew. A few Day's and a few others who he didn't really remember meeting. Edward pursed his lips as he saw his family talking together. Edward didn't want to go over there because he already knew what they were saying. The mutated vampires were a new threat, Edward had never seen anything quite like them in all he years.
Edward caught a glimpse of Ricki and stared at her for a little. Honestly, he didn't know what was going on in his mind. He loved Bella, but something about Ricki would pull him in. He hated it...but at times he almost wanted it. Edward cleared his mind and walked over to an empty table. He sat down in a chair and closed his eyes for a moment. He tried to clear his mind and then he felt a pull inside him. He knew what that meant...He needed Bella. He wanted to be with her and he wanted her scent to grasp him like it always would.

Renesmee literally ran though the house, gathering and fixing herself and everything around her. There was to be a ball tonight, she was excited. Her and Alice went to go pick out dresses the night before. Renesmee fixed her hair and pulled back curls to make sure it didn’t fall in her face with a silver clip as she rushed around even more. She had a cab waiting for her outside, one of those black ones like you see at the airport, not quite a limo but it had the style like one. She hummed a tune, one that made her shift faster as she gathered everything in her blue bag. Her smiled raided her face as she hurried out the door and locked it right before trotting to the car with her heels and purse in hand. ”You know where to go.” She giggled, slamming the car door, her golden eyes glowing with excitement. She put her shoes on and put the purse by her side, practically bouncing in the place she sat. **A Few minutes later** Renesmee thanked the driver and paid him, walking gracefully to the dance with a big smile on her face. She grinned and looked up as her curls bounced behind her. She nodded to the man who opened the door for her and stepped inside, taking a good look around before walking down the steps. Don’t fall, don’t fall, don’t fall… She repeated, touching her heart necklace around her neck quickly. It was a necklace Jacob has given her before they left and she kept it dear to her. She sighed and looked down, wishing Jacob was here. Outfit- Click!Hair (in her natural hair color)- Click!

; tonight we dance, i leave my life in your hands we take the floor, nothing is forbidden anymore. Ricki grinned at her sister as she made her presence known. "Fashionably late as always," Ricki teased with a wink once Annalie paused her talk about work. Ricki knew how attached she got to the people she worked with - that was just Annalie, and Ricki knew that the patient she was talking about at the moment was probably one of the biggest things on her mind. "It all depends on the connotation of the word "save." Suicide isn't the easiest thing for anyone to do- the very thought of it makes me shiver. She must've been in some serious misery to want to die." Ricki sighed, before she shrugged and skipped out of her seat.
"And excuse me please, I think I see a Cullen!" Ricki placed a hand on Annalie's shoulder, "You know I don't do well with all the emotional stuff. Sorry, i'm no help." She placed a pat or two on her shoulder before walking off with her glass of red wine heading closer towards the 'lone Cullen who was sat alone at a table. When Ricki'd first spotted the Cullen, she'd only really smelt him, not really looked at him, but now that she headed closer and closer, his features seemed to sink in to Ricki and intoxicate her mind like the smell of human blood. I... they certainly are a pretty bunch aren't they. Ricki knew that wasn't Carlisle, 'cause the description didn't match and Karin didn't have a hyper-attack, but if he was one of the brothers, Ricki couldn't help but wonder what the other Cullen's looked like.
"Is it okay if I sit?" Ricki's musical voice sang. She composed her face into a 'happy' expression, and sat herself opposite the mysterious Cullen, without really waiting for his answer. "Hey! Yay! I finally get to meet a Cullen eh?" She continued to smile at him. For some reason, the sight of him was provoking something within her, a small part of her insides that she'd long locked and shoved away, the part that held her emotions, was rattling away wanting escape. Ricki ignored it, as she always did. "I'm- Ricki Day." Whatever the rattling meant, it didn't need to be pondered upon. "You might be...?" her hands fiddling idly with the bottom strands of her hair, as her eyes found his for a vague fraction of a second, before the hurried to shy away.

____________________________________________________ Karin lowered her eyes suspiciously at her daughter's late entrance. Although she had asked for good behavior, something told her making a entrance and other attention catching events may happen. She sighed, and chuckled softly. It was completely Annalie. She walked forward, wrapping her arms around her dark haired 'daughter' and lightly kissed her on the cheek. "Those poor men," she whispered into her ear, with a wry smile. She took a step back and regarded her daughter. Beautiful was definitely one of the more mild descriptions. She pursed her lips softly at Annalie's story, realising how hard it must be for her daughter. Sometimes she wished they could save everyone, but the only way sometimes was to turn them. Over the years, Karin had become desensitized, a blessing as well as a curse. She hoped for Annalie's sake that she'd become like that after a while. Vampires were not above breakdowns as Karin had discovered in her first decades of desperately trying to hold onto as many lives as possible. She nodded to Ricki's comment. "Sometimes it's more humane to let them go," she whispered softly. "I'm sorry for your loss though." She turned her gentle eyes to Annalie's, with a soft smile.
At the mention of the word Cullen, Karin took a breath of the air. She could definitely smell a vampire... maybe two... but none were Carlisle. She looked over a few people to find her eyes resting on a rather attractive young man. Must be one of the younger members of the coven. She took note of the few more humans entering, as well as what could be a vampire but not quite. She frowned. That must be Renesmee, Bella's daughter. She took a glance back at Ricki who seemed to be enjoying herself. In fact, if the slight touch of her hair was anything to go on... Karin laughed at herself. Ricki was definitely not the flirt in the family nor had she shown any interest of that kind. She looked away, deciding that what ever it was, she didn't need the excitable mother around.
"I'm going to go get some air," Karin said suddenly, feeling a little claustrophobic with the amount of people around. She gracefully picked up her drink and gently pushed her way through the people toward the opening. A icy breath of wind awakened her senses and the openness made her feel slightly better. She leaned on the railing that overlooked the roaring ocean. The salty sea air stung a little. She wondered if Annalie would follow her out. With all the racing hearts in there, Karin always remained unsure. As of the next month, Karin had transfered herself to the ER. She had to get out of Carlisle's presence. She was happy that it looked like Ricki had found herself a friend, and hopefully so would the others.

Post by Raven Mord on Jul 19, 2009 17:47:04 GMT
-------------------------------------- Raven had little belief in the truth of rumours, however, the tantalizing idea of another vampire coven made him wish that the rumour was true. Plus, it may add leverage to his circumstances. The first thing he did upon entering Nysena was to take a visit to the local hospital where he would surely find Carlisle. Delight had taken him to find out that they were holding a Charity Ball, desperately looking for sponsorship. Of course, the Volturi had given him access to their funds so he had made a generous donation and secured a ticket into the ball. Also, he had found out the head of surgery was a women by the name of Karin Day whose daughter, Annalie Day, was a nurse. He had tracked the pair to find indeed that they were vampires, veggies too. He had also found out that Carlisle had transfered. It was amazing how they didn't even try to change their names.
Dressed in a flashy tuks, he made quite the dazzling man. A well placed smile got him through the entrance. Although, as his eyes latched onto a dark haired beauty, he realised he didn't even have to make an entrance. He didn't need to be inside anyway. He had sent in his sister to do that job. Perfect. So long as the blithering idiots who had circled the place stayed true to plan, everything was going splendidly. A smirk fixed itself upon his face. He fixed his tie and put a charming smile upon his face. "Hi," he purred softly, allowing his eyes to run over her. Playing the interested suitor would give him a game to play. He lent on the railing, facing her. "Let me introduce myself. Raven Farrow." The name should immediately sparked that of a sponsor. She would have to play along if the hospital would continue receiving his support. He gently took her hand, and kissed it in greeting. The women looked slightly older, so he reasoned it must be Karin. Annalie would have looked a lot younger, and from rumours, a lot more breathtaking than Karin.
"I'm a friend of Carlisle," he continued as though it was an everyday occurrence that vampires pitched up at functions in the middle of nowhere. He knew she'd know he was a vampire, so might as well play up to it. "You must be Karin. He's said so much about you. I came in yesterday. The old crook was determined I attend this ball so that he could leach me of my money." The lie was merely to establish what kind of relationship they had. It was fun to bargain, but of course, the thing he held for ransom had mean something to Carlisle and the rest of the Cullens. Oh, if only she knew her reaction would tie her fate. He laughed warmly, finding being nice quite enjoyable considering it would make the betrayal oh so much sweeter. Perhaps he could even get her believe that Carlisle was the bad guy and poor sweet Raven is justified in all his actions.
He wasn't evil per say. Hopefully everything would go off without a hitch. If Edward was around, it wouldn't be too much of a crisis. In fact, he would relish getting his sister to change his thoughts. He grinned to himself. He took a breath of the air, sensing four other vampires and that hybrid. His sister, Edward and the other two he could not place. He recognised a whiff. That must be Annalie, he mused. Well, he would not only limit his pickings to Karin, based on her reaction, then. he had a whole pool to choose from. Maybe more later that evening. He had to play his games first, so the longer it took, the more pleasure for Raven. He had to wait for Carlisle anyway. He caught a glance of his black eyes. Instead of contacts, he had starved himself so he wouldn't have to wear those annoying contacts. The smell of humans did not even excite him tonight. His games would bring far more pleasure than killing weak humans.
"Could I interest you in a walk?" he continued to smile pleasantly. "Crowds tend to make me a little jittery." His aim to seclude her from the rest was two fold. One, he would get away from that annoying little mind reader. Also, it would dragged out the process. he couldn't risk Carlisle seeing him now. He had to wait for all the humans to be a little tipsy. He, himself, had donated plenty of alcohol to achieve just that. That way, kidnapping a few people would not make a huge fuss, if anyone noticed at all. Plus, people disappearing at around midnight wouldn't be too suspicious. Even at ten or eleven. Some people were just not party people. Predictability made the game slightly boring. It was the large gathering of vampires that made him fear and anticipate.

Renesmee wondered what the group of people were doing over by another table. She glanced that way and stood on her tippy toes to see her father and a group of people. She sighed slightly and shook her head with a grin on her face. She guessed she had to say hi, he was her father. Renesmee walked over to them with a warm smile.
”Hello.” She greeted, looking at everyone and then her father. She took a chair and sat next to him, kissing him on the cheek before putting her purse down. She looked at the girl and smiled. It had to be a day, she just seemed to be one. She heard her name, Ricki. Renesmee glanced to her father.
"I don't think we've met before, I'm Renesmee Cullen. Its great to meet you." Renesmee smiled. She looked to her father and back at her. The room felt light and stress free to her, like everything was going great. Renesmee smiled and looked around more.

____________________________________________________ The hum of chatter brought about a sense of accomplishment. Once again, she had put together something that would both be enjoyed by patients and the people attending the ball. She swirled the golden liquid in her glass, examining the contents dance, reflecting light. A small smile graced her lips at the fairly simple happening. There was nothing exciting to it, but the success of the ball had made her quite giddy. A soft, attractive voice made her jump. She had blocked out the noise, disregarding any footsteps. It was easier that way than to be accosted by a million sounds. She quickly turned to be confronted by a dark haired... vampire. She blinked, taken completely aback. As far as she knew, most of the Cullens were light haired. "H-hi," she stuttered. Raven Farrow. She frowned as the name rang a bell and an important one. She allowed him to kiss her hand, although she wasn't quite comfortable with the formalities nor the way he was looking at her.
A friend of Carlisle's? She frowned. he hadn't mentioned a friend. "He did? All good I hope," she smiled politely, putting on her smooth, professional demeanor. She hated to admit it, but him saying that sent her feelings a flutter. A small, blissful smile touched her lips before she quickly hid it. She suddenly realised why she knew his name. He was a rather generous sponsor. She sighed inwardly. This would be a long evening if he decided that her company would suffice for the whole night.
"Sure," she nodded to his question about the walk. She put her glance down on the railing and led him out onto the beach front. She kept her eyes on the horizon, pondering the situation over. Somehow, something didn't feel right. Surely Carlisle would have mentioned something... She paused. She had been quite scarce deliberately over the last few days just to avoid her feeling. "Enjoying Nysena?" she asked mildly, not really feeling attracted to the conversation. She would definitely not be playing up to his attracted suitor thing tonight. While she was prepared to flirt a little, her mind wasn't in it. Sure, money mattered for the hospital, which made her feel a little guilty.
