-------------------------------------- Raven lowered his eyes, regarding the women. She seemed a little too surprised. Seems as if Carlisle had told her very little of all his travels, not that he had expected her to recognise his name. He had just hoped she would have been a little warmer. "More than good," he grinned secretly, as though he knew something she didn't. The little smile of bliss that had crept up unknowingly satisfied some knowledge. He meant something to her. Observing such behavior had taught him how to follow people. After all, people had set patterns and often had a predictable destination. Also, the slight hesitance and casual brush off told him more than enough. Oh, wow, this would be fun. He continued to smile pleasantly at her. Poor little lamb caught up in all this crossfire.
"The place is sure something," he replied, smiling at the lady. He was glad they were now outside the tent, but this wasn't far enough, it seemed like the blonde female of the Day coven was keeping the mind reader busy, but nevertheless, he couldn't risk being so close to the tent. Not when Carlisle's little pet would go running to him any moment- though, I daresay he'd be a match for me. Raven started walking away from the tent, keeping his pace slow and human, his stance casual. His eyes gazed at the moon for a moment, before he looked around to see the head of the Day coven.
Pity they're all going to die. The look this one had for me a moment ago was quite amusing. Raven hadn't miss the flicker of discomfort that crossed Karin's face, being a spy, he was sharper than most of his kind, he also had quicker reflexes, and being a mutated vampire gave him an extra advantage on hand, which the other present vampires probably didn't have. "I'm glad that my friend Carlisle isn't the only one who's trying to... ah, save the humans." he said casually, his footsteps halting once he thought they were far enough from the tent, his eyes locking into Karin's. "Though I daresay, he does befriend the beautiful." Raven winked, allowing a flirty smile to play on his lips.
No matter who the woman was, she always liked to be appreciated- did she not? So why not make her feel appreciated. His thought made him want to smirk, but he held it back, continuing to stare into Karin's eyes. "I must say, it's a very nice thing you're doing here... saving so many helpless souls," his eyes twinkled in the moonlight, his features sharper and more attractive than they normally would have been. To Raven this female was just another woman, another target, but he had to do was play his game right, I still don't see why I couldn't have gotten Annalie instead... but then again, she seems a lot sharper than this one here. And, the chance that Carlisle would react strongly to him targeting Annalie was minimal.
He needed her to call Carlisle. This next step would establish how much Carlisle cared for the head of the other coven. Take a few people he cares about and Carlisle would come crawling. Well, that was not the Volturi's plan, but if he got the job done, they wouldn't complain. If that didn't work, at least he'd get his game. After all, what else mattered? The Volturi's petty concerns didn't matter to him. He couldn't have given a damn. Sensing a few of his companions nearby, he knew it was time to make a move. What was interesting about this game was that he'd be able to see what the Cullens were truly made of. The angelic outward appearance was about to be disproven. Would he flee, taking his remaining family with him or would he risk exposure by trying to save them? A loose loose situation. What would he choose. A deep satisfaction arose. Even if he didn't get the Cullens it would be worth it. He pulled his lips into a warm smile and took a step toward her. An arm snaked around her waist and a gently hand brushed some hair out of her face. His hand tightened, until he felt her marble skin give way a little. He made sure he had a strong grip on her so she couldn't flee. The joy of being stronger. His eyes hardened, so she couldn't mistake it.

____________________________________________________ Karin was a good judge of character at the best of times. A deep sense of unease nagged at her. Surely Carlisle would have said something. Instead, she pulled on an aloof air, her lips pulled into a soft smirk. "I enjoy the puzzle," she replied non-committal. She smiled polite, her eyes cold. She wasn't stupid. His pitch black eyes made her nervous. They were not contacts, as she could see those from a mile away. A slight red flicker made her doubt that he was vegetarian. Here he was surrounded by quite a few humans, and he was hungry. She was happy he was still moving. That made her feel more comfortable. She laughed it off internally. She was being silly. Obviously, if he knew the Cullens, he couldn't be too bad. She was just being paranoid. The Cullens were good vampires. They wouldn't have too many, if any enemies, right?
A nervous giggle came through at his compliment. It was a gracious smile, as any women should adopt when being complimented. However, Karin never felt comfortable with such compliments. "Our kind are beautiful," she stared him down, deflecting quite nicely. She ignored his flirty smile and the well placed wink. Whether it came from humans or vampires, she was nicely desensitized. Her smile became distrusting. The lights and sounds from the party beckoned to her. Perhaps the rest of the Cullens arrived. She glanced back over her shoulder.
She turned her eyes back to him as he mentioned that he thought she was doing a good thing. Her gracious smile returned. As she stopped, she turned to face him. They were a good distance from the tent. "Thanks," she muttered. "Wouldn't be possible without people like you." She played with a strand of her hair, her sense focused to the tent. While he was breathtaking, watching him stand in the moonlight had little effect on Karin. While she could appreciate it, it wasn't Caleb...or Carlisle. Caught by surprise, she felt his hand encircle her. She stared at him dumbly as he gently touched her hair. No no no... As she took a step back, she felt his hand tighten. Pain welled up. It had been ages since she had felt the sensation. it was as though he was a new breed of some sort. Eyes wide, she glanced around. What was happening? He was one of stronger vampire than she had encountered. Newborn strength, maybe more, but with a lot more control. The lack of scarlet confirmed that he wasn't. The change of expression confirmed her fears.
"Ouch, you're hurting me...let go!" she bit her lip, and stared back at him. "Carlisle!" She struggled, horrified to find herself so much weaker than he was. The changed of conversation had caught her by utter surprise. She had to scream louder. Carlisle knew this vampire. Maybe it was all some kind of practical joke. Maybe a strange kind of friendship. She awaited a bubbling laughter from somewhere. "CARLISLE!" she screamed. The noise of the party would take away the sound from any human ears but maybe a vampire or two would come. She dug her nails into the stranger's thigh, breaking the marble skin, triumphant at the tiny bit of pain she could inflict upon him.

party hearty drinkand be merry Annalie was watching Karin the entire time some man approached her. Of course Annalie kept her distance and observed the two. She was quite upset with her "mother" as a matter of fact. Annalie wasn't stupid and since she worked with Karin she was able to always hear her speaking about Carlisle. Annalie was afraid that the Cullen had stolen her mother's heart. And if that was so, then poor Caleb. Annalie loved her family and it started to look like they were nothing but a bunch of home wreckers. Ok so the Cullens were also a family of six and they were veggitarian vampires too, what were the odds? However that didn't mean that Karin needed to start flirting with some donator of the charity. That basically defeated the purpose of the word.
Eying them a bit closer, Annalie was finally able to see the male suitor. He was very attractive but in a devious, and dark sort of way. He was a vampire that much was certain. His scent, along with everyone else's in the party was carried on by the strong Nysena wind. The South African current always brought a dry and sweet smell to Annalie's nose. She loved her home and always would.
Removing her thoughts from her head, Annalie went back to focusing on her "mother" and her knew aquaintance. Annalie didn't like what she was seeing. As Karin looked back towards the party, she had a look of worry and discomfort. This was a signal to stay close, very close and interfere in some way. Annalie put down her drink and excused herself from whomever was currently staring at her and quickly looked for her mother in human pace. It was a pain in the ass but necessary since the party was full of men watching her. Heck even woman couldn't believe that she was as beautiful as she was. I need to remember to bring a scarf for my damn face next time, she thought with bitterness. Some people just couldn't get any privacy.
Annalie was almost up to her mother when she heard her screaming for Carlisle. "HEY!" she yelled at the vampire male. "GET OFF OF HER!!" Annalie didn't care about where Carlisle was, all she cared about was making sure Karin was OK. With her rage only getting the best of her when she or her family was threatened, Annalie grabbed the man's arms and pulled them off of Karin. "Don't mess with a Day," she said with a smirk and started to swing her right arm into a punch right in his gut.

Isabella frowned observing the guests as they arrived. She almost allowed her face to light up when she saw a number of the Cullens arrive. Edward and his daughter Renesmee arrived and seated themselves at a table. They were soon joined by a member of the Days, she guessed that that was Ricki. As she continued scanning her eyes caught on a girl with a deep blue dress. She frowned as she observed the girl, this girl looked extremely familiar. She quickly focused on her task at hand when she saw her brother enter. She watched him approach Karin Day and smiled, so far the plan was going without any problems. She watched him acting like the perfect gentlemen and sighed with relief, as much as she loved her brother she knew how impulsive he could be. She watched him lead Karin outside.
She frowned when she saw that a dark-haired female was watching Karin and Raven too closely for comfort. She growled softly as she stood up. She followed the female as she headed outside. She guessed that this female was Annalie Day. She watched the girl yell at her brother and groaned, this stupid girl was making a scene. She grabbed the girl's right arm as she started to swing her right arm into a punch. She immediately started to send a stream of thoughts into the girl's mind. He isn't a threat to Karin, you don't want to hit him. You want to go to the beach for some fresh air She sent these thoughts into Annalie's mind deciding that her brother's cronies could take care of her.
She then let go of her arm and sent a look of frustration to her brother.

-------------------------------------- His smile broadened as she struggled. "I know," he grinned cruely. Happy that she had sufficiantly called for Carlisle, he placed his hand firmly over her mouth. A growl passed his lips as he felt her nails bit into him. A smirk lit his face. It was cute the way she thought it hurt him. He quickly turned her, making her face the other way. He wrapped an arm tightly around her while keeping the other across her mouth. “Oooh, feisty,” he laughed coldly. “I like it. Shhh shh now, he'll be here. Of course, if he leaves you to die, that'll make this game far more interesting.” He gazed into the expanding distance, waiting for the Cullens. A sharp glance sent a guard off to go find his sister. While he may have enjoyed a short party, somehow, the game was far more tantilizing. He held the struggling women close to him, growing rather annoyed. Patience was not his virtue.
A sudden cry annoyed him further. Growling, his mutated senses ducked the punch and beckoned to his two guards. Statisfied, he watch them go for the rampage Day. While Annalie was... stunning... he reasoned she was far more irrational than he was. With a snarl, he reached out to grabbed his fallen prey. Once again holding his leverage and another token in the grasp of his mission, he glanced up to see who else was on their way. "Don't play games little girl," he snarled. "I'm a little different from your usual brand of vampire." He watched in delight as his sister arroved just before the bloody idiots could make a mess of the situation. He smiled broadly at her. Two of his guards went to grabbed Annalie. "Wait for Ricki," he commanded to Isabella. While it was sharp, it was more affection. She had saved him a lot of trouble. He quickly sent her a happy, brotherly glance. He was well pleased in her companionship.

Isabella nodded at her brother. She glared at the two guards as they noisely handled Karin and Annalie. "Can you do that in a frequency which humans can't hear" she snapped angrily at them. She glared angrily at then again before she turned and went to find a position where she would easily be able to grab Ricki without being seen. She stopped next to a tree and smiled. They were definately not going to expect being attacked from above. She turned back to make sure that they were not messing up. She nodded when she saw they had finally subdued the pair and had them out of sight.
She climbed the tree in one swift move and waited out of sight for the next few vampires to arrive. She sat keeping dead still and not making a noise.

Carlisle's eyes were wide as he stood and watched Karin and one of her daughters were struggling against the grasp of various vampires. His eyes were wide with fear and shock, he couldn't believe what was happening- one moment he'd just been about to enter the tent, and the next he'd heard howls of his name being cried from the other direction, it took him no effort to recognize the voice, but once he did, worry flooded him like a tsunami. There was no chance he could win, and there was no point causing too much chaos, especially not with humans around. He tried to look calm and composed as he stepped forward, looking from a handsome dark male vampire, to his little 'croonies' who were holding a member of the Day coven down.
"Who are you? What do you want?" he called out, keeping his eyes at each of them, his mind sharp, his body ready to act in defense in case anyone tried to touch him. What he couldn't really understand though was a feeling of anger... brusting anger that was going through him due to the dark haired male touching Karin. He felt somewhat... possesive. He pushed the feeling to a smaller part of his mind, it didn't matter at the moment. He had to get this sorted,
"We have done nothing to harm you, and neither did we ever intend to- so why are you here? Tell me! What is it that you're after?" Carlisle's calm voice was like the wind whispering through the night.
No one but vampire ears could hear his words. Any human who would see him would merely be under the impression that he was either talking to himself, or perhaps just mouthing words rather randomly.

Little girl, little girl you dirty liarxxx You're just a junkie preaching to the choir
[/size] Ari was just about to get up and leave, when another girl came over and sat down. She had longish brown hair and was in a beautiful dress. She asked if anyone else was sitting there, "No, go ahead." She also said she couldn't wait for this thing to be over, "Really? You look kind of bored though. Neither can I to be honest. I was just about to leave before you came over here." She did want to leave, but she didn't just want to leave this girl here to suffer. To pick up the conversation she started to talk. "My name is Aristotle, but Ari for short. And what would yours be?" Alright then. Nice way to start the conversation off. Names first. Outfit;; ClickNotes;; where has all the muse gone....? Post by Bella Cullen on Jul 21, 2009 3:39:19 GMT
Bella had finally made her entrance; she was Alice's interpretation of presentable, better explained as looking stupidly done up. She wore a lavender halter dress with a cinched waist and an angled hem, and her makeup was done as well as it could be, as well as her hair. After all this time, Bella had learned enough from Alice to do her own makeup and hair, but her sister still insisted on picking out the clothes even though her taste and style had improved over the years.
The ball was made up very nicely and she liked the atmosphere as she looked at the decor, instantly spotting Edward and Nessie sitting at a table, with a blonde girl as well. Characteristically abnormally beautiful, Bella immediately knew she was a vampire; her conclusion the girl was a Day vampire. She made her way to the table to go sit with her husband, who looked breathtaking in that suit of his, and had she a breath to lose it would be gone, as well as her daughter, who looked like Alice got a hold of her too. If only Jake could see her, he'd go nuts, she thought with a little giggle, looking around at others also mingling.
Halfway to Edward's table did she hear Carlisle's voice, audible only to vampires in that way she used to think was some sort of secret language she could never catch on to, and her golden eyes looked around to see that he wasn't there. He was speaking in that calm voice he used in bad situations, and from the looks of it, it seemed to be working on getting bad, somewhere outside the tent. She moved quickly to Edward, still passing as a humanly pace before she tapped his shoulder lightly. "Hi love," she said with a loving smile she always used every time she saw him before leaning over to kiss his cheek as she sat down next to him. She then looked to the blonde girl next. "Hello, I'm Bella Cullen...you must be a Day..a pleasure to meet you," she said, giving her a dazzling, kind smile.
Turning to Edward, she spoke again. "Edward, listen in..Carlisle's using that really calm voice when things are bad, you know the one...can you tune in to see what's going on?" she asked, hoping he could delve slightly into the minds of those over there causing the trouble to see what was exactly going on. Bella herself wanted to go over and see what was happening, but she trusted that Carlisle could diffuse the situation.
